5 free agency destinations for Jacob deGrom: Los Angeles Dodgers

This one would sting. Even if the Los Angeles Dodgers play on the other side of the country, they are a rival of the Mets and maybe the likeliest team to take them down this year.

The mighty Dodgers are perhaps the only team capable of keeping up with Mets owner Steve Cohen and the money he seems willing to spend to build a winner. It’s not inconceivable for this simple man to sign with the Dodgers. Sans a championship, it might be his best bet to finally get one.

Somehow, the Dodgers always seem to make room for players. This past offseason, it was Freddie Freeman they cleared space for. Next winter, could Jacob deGrom be Hollywood-bound?

The Dodgers are like the Yankees in the way that there never seems to be a lengthy period of rebuilding. Regardless of how the year goes for them, we should expect Los Angeles to be right in the thick of things yet again next year.

And if not the Dodgers, how about the Los Angeles Angels? Noah Syndergaard already left the Mets to join their mess. Will deGrom be smarter and avoid the Halos at all costs? One has to think that as important as money is, winning still matters to him.
