#2 – Boston Red Sox RHP Brayan Bello (No. 45 in MLB, No. 3 in BOS)

The lone prospect on this list to have already made his major league debut, Brayan Bello has drawn early comparisons to a young Pedro Martinez. While he didn’t do all that well in his debut, he was untouchable in the minors to begin the season and has been dating back to 2019.

Bello, 23, made 15 appearances (14 starts) split between Triple-A Worcester and Double-A Portland this season, going 10-4 with a combined 2.33 ERA, 114 strikeouts and 33 walks in just 85 innings. He does a great job of limiting both walks and home runs and has looked strong enough to stay in the big leagues even after Chris Sale comes off of the injured list. The Red Sox clearly think highly of the kid, and he could be blossoming into the next American League star pitcher.

#1 – San Diego Padres OF Robert Hassell (No. 24 in MLB, No. 1 in SD)

While he is still very young at 20 years old and only has 174 games of professional ball under his belt, Padres No. 1 prospect Robert Hassell is going to be an absolute stud for the Padres for many years to come.

A threat with the bat, on the bases and in the field, Hassell possesses the tools to become a true superstar at the big league level. He hit 11 home runs last year in 110 games and already has nine this year through 64 games. On the bases, he has a ton of speed and is a smart baserunner, stealing 34 bags last year and 19 already this season.

Even on defense, Hassell is outstanding. He is a capable defender at all three outfield spots but primarily plays center. He has played 53 games in center (454.0 innings) this year and has yet to commit a single error out there. He’s got the instincts and speed to stick in center field long-term and will provide the Padres with the best center fielder they’ve had in years once he makes his big league debut.
