2. Doing nothing to build WR depth

The Packers obviously made the tough decision to move on from Davante Adams this offseason, as he was moved to and eventually signed a five-year, $140 million contract with the Raiders. Much like the problem this offseason, the Packers had the opportunity to build wide receiver depth and did not.

Last year, Green Bay did not bring in any additional options through free agency. The only additions they did make were bringing back Aaron Rodgers’ former longtime teammate in Randall Cobb and drafting Clemson wide receiver Amari Rodgers. Other than that, the wide receiver corps was essentially the same as is.

Luckily for them, Rodgers played at an MVP level last season. Now, the Packers are in a bit of a jam.

Adams was not the only loss in the wide receiver room this offseason. Marquez Valdes-Scantling left to join the Kansas City Chiefs on a three-year, $30 million contract. Equanimeous St. Brown signed a one-year, $965,000 contract with the Chicago Bears.

The Packers will hope that second-round pick Christian Watson and veteran free agent signing Sammy Watkins can be enough to fill the void left by Adams.
