David Price could be released

Price is in the final season of a massive six-year deal worth $185 million. He’s pitched in 21 innings over 20 games this season. While he has an ERA of 3.00 and 25 strikeouts, he has a blown save and one hold.

While there has been some hint Price retiring in the offseason, the Dodgers could decide to trade him in order to get something in turn. If a team is looking for a veteran arm to eat up a couple of innings, Price might be the guy. If he can not be moved, the Dodgers have some talent in AAA Oklahoma City who could make better use of his roster spot down the stretch run. The Dodgers may be forced to release him to make way for younger talent.

Price is a good clubhouse veteran but it could be asked what exactly he’s done for the Dodgers lately.
