10 best NBA Summer League players of all time
3. Josh Hart, 2017 and 2018 Los Angeles Lakers
Josh Hart played alongside Lonzo Ball and won the 2017 Summer League championship, and in 2018 he won Summer League MVP and took the Lakers all the way back to the championship where they lost to Portland. Over his two-season, 11-game career, he never really was amazing at anything, but he had no weaknesses in his game. He could knock down shots from deep, play solid defense, find the open man, and hustle and fight for rebounds.
Most players on this list lit it up at one point, and aside from the fifth-best game ever, Hart was not an elite player.
That being said, just because he wasn’t elite doesn’t mean he wasn’t the best player on the court at any given time. Hart dominated with his three-level scoring and ability to get the ball in his hands and the way he gave it up for others. Without him, the Lakers would not have gone on a run and almost established a Summer League dynasty, but he was the heart and soul of two finals-bound teams.
