Baltimore Ravens: FS Marcus Williams

It’s still hard to believe that the team that gave up the most passing yards in the league this past season was John Harbaugh’s Baltimore Ravens. Perhaps even more perplexing is the fact that the club dropped its final six games after an 8-3 start and wound up in the AFC North basement.

The club hopes that cornerbacks Marcus Peters (who missed all of 2021) and Marlon Humphrey can stay healthy this year. The team also added veteran cornerback Kyle Fuller, late of the Broncos. But the addition of free safety Marcus Williams via the Saints gives new defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald a playmaker that’s totaled 15 interceptions in five seasons.

Buffalo Bills: DE Von Miller

He is one of the premier pass rushers in the league of the last decade-plus. Von Miller was the second overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft by the Denver Broncos. And during his days in the Mile High City he amassed an impressive 110.5 sacks, 25 forced fumbles and Super Bowl 50 MVP honors.

After sitting out 2020 with an injury he returned a year ago and then was eventually traded to the Rams. Miller played a pivotal role down the stretch for Sean McVay’s team and was a big-time postseason performer once again And that’s the role he figures to play for Sean McDermott’s defending AFC East champions as the Bills look for a fifth playoff appearance in six seasons.
