Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes lends his starpower to an unlikely sponsor to create a new tailgate must-have: The Coors Light flashlight.

Beer has long gone hand in hand with football, but as it turns out, it can’t actually go in the hands of football players — at least not on camera as an endorsement.

But a little ingenuity, combined with the versatility of the English language, allowed a popular adult beverage company to partner with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and give back to his foundation, the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation.

How?

By introducing The Coors Light, a limited-edition flashlight that claims to be as cool as the Colorado Rockies — just like the beer.

In the minute-long spot, Mahomes assures the audience that it’s a “quality flashlight” as he humorously toys around with the product. Looks like Coors and Mahomes had fun finding a creative way to tie the superstar’s aura to “the official sponsor of everything unofficial.”

Here’s what Mahomes had to say about the cool summer campaign, per a company press release:

"“This summer, I’m excited to team up with Coors Light again to debut ‘The Coors Light’ with all proceeds going to the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation.”“It’s a legit flashlight. It’s made with high-quality steel, so it feels cold like the Rocky Mountains.”"

For any Chiefs fan looking for a quirky bit of memorabilia to add to their collection, The Coors Light will only be available for a limited time. The brand is releasing a limited amount of flashlights each day at 10 a.m. from July 13-15 until supplies last. The $15 flashlights, priced for the iconic quarterback’s jersey number, will have all proceeds donated to Mahomes’ namesake foundation.

That means that every flashlight sold will directly improve the lives of children, as Mahomes’ foundation “supports initiatives that focus on health, wellness, communities in need of resources and other charitable causes.”

Whether it’s a handy tool for the next tailgate, another memento for the Chiefs wall, or just an effort to improve the lives of kids across the country, The Coors Light is something that goes hand in hand with being a dedicated Patrick Mahomes fan.
