5 monster MLB series you’ll want to see live in July

5. MLB monster series: Houston Astros vs. Seattle Mariners, July 22-24 and July 28-31
Let’s cheat a little bit because, well, we get to see a home-and-home between the Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners. These two teams play each other twice. First after the Astros open with two against the New York Yankees then again to finish off the month with four more.
The first three will take place in Seattle with the latter four in Houston. It’s an especially big series for the Mariners who are hoping they are contenders again. They’ve been one of the game’s hottest clubs. Now with an eye on earning a wild card away from one of the American League East clubs, some wins against the rival Astros can help them climb the standings.
For Houston, it’s an important series to remind Seattle what their role is. The Astros have reigned supreme in the division over the last several seasons while the Mariners own the game’s longest playoff drought.
We can expect some harder punches from the Mariners in this series—not literally. This isn’t the Los Angeles Angels they’re up against.
Both ballparks should be rocking for these games. Houston is often a wonderful atmosphere to catch an MLB game because of how rowdy the fans can get for their perennial contenders. Seattle’s ballpark is a beautiful stadium in a city where the fans should turn out in droves as long as they keep winning.
