Robert Lewandowski is ending his longtime tenure at Bayern Munich with a move to Barcelona, a transfer that sent the soccer world into a frenzy.

There has arguably been no striker or goal-scorer in the world as dominant as Robert Lewandowski over the past several years. Leading the Bayern Munich attack, he’s been a force to be reckoned with in virtually every Bundesliga fixture, cup match and so on.

And now Barcelona fans hope he’ll be the same for them as they beef up the team sheet heading into another La Liga campaign.

On Friday, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the 34-year-old Lewandowski will be heading to Barca for a $45 million fee that the club finally agreed to with Bayern Munich.

Robert Lewandowski transfers to Barcelona: Soccer fans react

This was undoubtedly a stunning move that sent shockwaves throughout the soccer world, whether that was Barcelona fans celebrating and hyping up their team for the upcoming season or Bayern fans showing their appreciation for everything Lewandowski has done for the club.

The Lewandowski move comes not long after the club also agreed to a transfer fee for Raphinha, which makes Barca look like one of the most formidable clubs on the planet on paper.

With that said, this move doesn’t come without some mild trepidation. Lewandowski, as mentioned, is 34 years old and could be nearing a decline. The good news, though, is that the club has plenty of other strong (and young) attacking pieces around him that should allow him to continue his goal-scoring in La Liga.
