Yankees: 3 prospects New York would have to sell in Juan Soto trade

Juan Soto rumors: Yankees could trade Oswald Peraza
If the Yankees deem Volpe untouchable, which thus far it appears they have done in trade negotiations for other players, Peraza could make for a good backup plan.
Peraza is the Yanks No. 2 prospect and also plays shortstop, which is a premium position. As nice as it would be to feature both in New York’s system long-term, it’s likely unnecessary. Considering the success of the current major-league product, Brian Cashman will likely have to make one expendable at a certain point.
The 22-year-old is on track to debut at some point in 2022, so he’s one step closer to the bigs than Volpe. Add in that he has 20-25 home run power and, per MLB Pipeline, four-tool potential, it’s easy to see why the Yanks don’t want to give him up either.
"“Peraza has the upside of a shortstop with four plus tools and solid power. He’s a smooth defender at shortstop, where he has soft hands, a strong arm and keen instincts. He looks to make things happen on the bases with plus speed and savvy.”"
I’ll repeat what was written above — the Yankees will not trade both Volpe and Peraza, as one of those players represents their best bet as shortstop of the future. Isiah Kiner-Falefa, despite being just 27 years old, is not that.
