Frankie Montas rumors: 5 teams that should offer trade after stellar return

3. San Francisco Giants
The San Francisco Giants were one of the biggest surprises last year, as they finished with the best record in all of baseball. They earned a first-round bye and faced off against the rival Los Angeles Dodgers, who had one less win than them that year, in the NLDS. The Giants ultimately were eliminated.
San Francisco did make moves to bolster the roster for another postseason run, highlighted by their signing of former White Sox starting pitcher Carlos Rodon.
This season, the Giants were 48-43 entering the All-Star break, 12.5 games behind the Dodgers for first place in the NL West. But, they are half a game behind the Philadelphia Phillies for the last Wild Card spot in the NL.
Making it out of the West division is always going to be tough. This year, it is not just the Dodgers, but also the San Diego Padres that the Giants have to contend with. Maybe, just maybe, they can convince the in-state Athletics to see what it would take to land Montas.
