WWE Twitter can’t help but love Logan Paul after SummerSlam match vs. The Miz
Some wrestling fans were dubious of Logan Paul heading into WWE SummerSlam but his match with The Miz made just about everyone a fan.
Fans who haven’t paid attention to WWE in a while might’ve been shocked to look at the SummerSlam match card for Saturday night and see Logan Paul fighting The Miz. Yes, he appeared at WrestleMania, but a singles match is a much different beast to behold. And yet, no one is thinking that now.
At SummerSlam, Paul put on an absolute show. He was predictably charismatic but has also quite clearly been working on the craft as a pro wrestler and looked fluid and natural with one of the veterans of the business.
En route to a big victory at the premium live event in Nashville, though, Paul delivered one defining moment as he hit a monster frog splash on The Miz from the top turnbuckle onto the announcers’ table.

After the match — the frog splash in particular — WWE fans and even the legendary Mick Foley couldn’t help but give Logan Paul his props.

Perhaps the most impressive part of Paul (and The Miz) at SummerSlam was getting the newcomer over as a face. He is a natural heel given his public image and his ability to be smarmy, but it was hard not to root for him on Saturday night.
Still, it’s clear that he’s not just a celebrity cashing a check from WWE. Paul has put in serious work and, frankly, looks like a natural in the squared circle. This might’ve sounded crazy to say not long ago, but Paul quite obviously has a bright future in this business and is just getting started.
