3. Packers WR Romeo Doubs

It was just earlier this week that Aaron Rodgers spoke on behalf of Romeo Doubs, claiming him to be a special kind of receiver. A welcome note for Packers fans after an offseason in which they watched the team trade away the arguable WR1 in all of football, Davante Adams. Doubs was the second receiver that Green Bay selected in the draft following Christian Watson, for whom they made a trade to move up in the second round to secure. It is the Nevada Wolf Pack alum Doubs, however, who has been getting all of the attention thus far in camp.

Sammy Watkins sat out of practice for a couple of days with a tight hamstring at the end of July, and Watson has remained on the PUP after a minor knee surgery in June. That has opened up an awesome opportunity for Doubs, and he has relished it.

That is incredibly high praise from the reigning, back-to-back league MVP, and an excellent base for the rookie to build on moving forward.

It will be interesting to see how the Packers receiving room organizes once it reaches full strength, but it would seem as if Doubs will have a place within it regardless. There has been praise sent his way from a number of sources beyond the quarterback as well, although Rodgers’ words really tell the story.
