3. A.J. Brown, WR, Philadelphia Eagles

The biggest move during this year’s NFL Draft was the Eagles acquiring former Titans’ wideout A.J. Brown, giving Jalen Hurts a stud number one target and improving the offense. For real-life Eagles football, this move is huge and may put them over the top in the NFC East. In fantasy terms, I’m less than thrilled at the landing spot for Brown.

No Eagles wideout finished higher than the WR30 last season. Granted, the offense was just getting their feet wet under a new coaching staff and quarterback, and no receiver on the Eagles is as talented as Brown. Unfortunately for Brown, he goes from one run-heavy team to another. At least Ryan Tannehill didn’t have legs. Hurts is one of the most mobile quarterbacks in the NFL.

Brown may still be able to return WR2 value at times, but going to a team that ranked 29th in pass attempts per game in 2021 (29.8) limits his upside. He’s going to be the unquestioned number one for Philly, and he’s still very talented, but I would be cautious drafting him like we used to do while he was in Tennessee.
