2) Eguy Rosario

With trading for outfielder Juan Soto, the Padres’ farm system has been significantly weekend so Eguy Rosario is one of the best remaining prospects. He is the Padres’ no. 3 prospect, according to MLB.com but he is not in their Top 100 overall list. He is also having a very good season at Triple-A, though.

In 102 games at Triple-A in 2022, Rosario is hitting .302/.387/.528 with 30 doubles, 18 home runs, 70 RBI, and 18 stolen bases.

According to MLB Pipeline, here is what he ranks on a 20-80 scouting scale:

  • Hitting: 50
  • Power: 45
  • Running: 55
  • Arm: 65
  • Fielding: 50
  • Overall: 50

He would be a rookie, though, as he has not made his MLB debut. In fact, he is not even on the club’s 40-man roster. However, he can play second base and third base in addition to shortstop.
