No. 4: LB Jack Sanborn

Normally, a fourth shoutout would be considered an honorable mention, but in this case, Jack Sanborn has to be given his flowers for how well he performed as an undrafted free agent, and he might be the only undrafted free agent from this current 90-man roster that finds himself with a locker on opening day. His performance against the Chiefs, regardless of the competition he faced, certainly merits that.

Seven solo tackles, a tackle for loss, a pass breakup, and an interception. Not gaudy, but when you are trying to show the coaching staff, especially the head coach who was once a linebacker, that you can play in this league and you deserve to stick around, you need that kind of performance. Sanborn showed it, and he’s earned at least a pat on the shoulder. He still needs more development, but so far, he looks pretty good.
