30 active NFL players who will be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame
25. DE Myles Garrett
Back in April and for the first time since 2017, a quarterback was not the first overall selection in the NFL draft. In 2022, the Jacksonville Jaguars opted for University of Georgia defensive standout Travon Walker.
Five years ago, the Cleveland Browns made Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett the first overall pick in the draft. And as it has turned out, there’s a reason he was the top choice that spring.
The five-year pro has really come into his own the past two seasons — earning All-Pro accolades each of those years. Garrett has played in 68 regular-season contests and has racked up an impressive 58.5 sacks and 11 forced fumbles in those outings. Over the past two years combined, the relentless pass-rusher has rolled up a combined 28 QB traps, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries while knocking down five passes.
It will be intriguing to see how Garrett and the Browns defense performs going forward, and if Kevin Stefanski’s team can bounce back from a disappointing 8-9 season to reach the playoffs for the second time in three years. In any case, the five-year defensive standout has racked up double-digit sacks total each of the last four years. And his best football may be yet to come.
