The Atlanta Braves have called up Freddy Tarnok, so expect for him to be an immediate star.

Alex Anthopoulos could not care less what seamheads think about his Atlanta Braves farm system because no matter who his team calls up to the big leagues, that player will become an instant star.

Spencer Strider has emerged as the best rookie pitcher in baseball, Michael Harris II is playing like NL Rookie of the Year in centerfield and second baseman Vaughn Grissom is scoring runs at will in his first six games with the big-league club. Thus, we should expect nothing less when right-hander Freddy Tarnok toes the rubber for the first time in an Atlanta uniform. Get ready for that!

The No. 5 prospect in the Atlanta system was called up on Friday, along with infielder Ryan Goins.

Welcome to the show, Freddy! It’s good to say that name again, now I wonder why that is???

Atlanta Braves fans should get ready for Freddy Tarnok to be the next big thing

Look. It remains to be seen what Tarnok will do in his first stint in an Atlanta uniform. Pitchers still on rookie contracts are being sent up and down like nobody’s business for the better part of a week now. This is to help account for expanded rosters when it comes to navigating one doubleheader after another, as well as injuries to starting pitchers like Max Fried and Kyle Wright.

Fried has been in concussion protocol since slamming his head on the Citi Field turf over a week ago, while Wright is experiencing some level of arm soreness. For now, the Braves can lean on Strider and the ageless Charlie Morton while they try to patchwork through a tough stretch for its starting rotation. The good news is that for the most part, it has worked out well for the Braves.

Ultimately, Tarnok will probably not have the staying power at the big-league level of Harris, Strider or maybe not even Grissom. Harris is a lock to start in centerfield every night, while skipper Brian Snitker can feel comfortable with Strider toeing the rubber every fifth day. For now, Grissom is in the midst of the best week of his life. Perhaps Tarnok can stick with this year’s Baby Braves?

Atlanta has won seven straight entering its second game of four vs. the arch-rival New York Mets.
