2. RB Darrynton Evans could give the Bears necessary backfield depth

It is no secret that David Montgomery will be the starting running back for the Bears in 2022, much like he has been for the past two seasons. Behind him on the depth chart in the backup spot is Khalil Herbert. But, no team can have enough running back depth.

When it comes to who stood out in Seattle, it was Darrynton Evans, the former third-round pick by the Tennessee Titans.

The week prior against the Chiefs, Evans received seven carries, which he took for a total of 20 rushing yards. He had a much better outing against the Seahawks defense, taking eight carries for 39 yards and a touchdown. That score happened on a one-yard run in the third quarter to extend Chicago’s lead to 24-0.

Averaging 4.9 yards per carry in a game? That’s always a good thing, even in the preseason.
