Philadelphia Phillies slugger Bryce Harper has been out for over a month with an injury. Things are now looking up and he’s giving Phillies fans a reason to be excited.

The Philadelphia Phillies have had quite a difficult season. Their slugger Bryce Harper was inconsistently hitting due to an injury in the early season, but now he’s been out longer-term since June 26 with a separate injury. Harper fractured his thumb on a pitch from San Diego Padres pitcher Blake Snell.

Harper’s return seems to be promising. Though there’s not an exact date set for when he’ll return, he’s hitting from live pitchers again and is expected to begin his rehab assignment on Tuesday.

In a Tweet posted by NBC Sports Philadelphia, Harper was shown hitting a home run off a live pitcher with ease.

The Phillies have a decent lineup this season, but they’ll undoubtedly benefit from having Harper back.

Bryce Harper nearing return, could give Phillies a huge boost

Harper was used most commonly as a designated hitter in the early season. He was still battling injury, but he had the freedom to play as he felt since he had avoided the injured list. Before being placed on the injured list, he hit .318/.385/.599 for an OPS of .984.

He’s been consistently good each season. He made his MLB debut in 2012 and has hit a career average of .281/.391/.528 for an OPS of .919. His results aren’t just a fluke season. He’s been hitting well for the past decade and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Philadelphia would undoubtedly improve with Harper back in the lineup.
