Atlanta Braves designated hitter/outfielder Marcell Ozuna has spoken after his DUI arrest.

Hours since he was arrested by Norcross police for a DUI and failing to maintain his lane, Marcell Ozuna briefly spoke with the local media … live from the Atlanta Braves clubhouse…

This is Ozuna’s third year with the Braves. After being Mr. “Mix It Up” during the COVID-shortened season, one where he led the National League in home runs and runs batted in, it has been one distraction after another for Ozuna. He was arrested last summer for a domestic violence dispute in Sandy Springs. A little more than a year later, he drove his vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

The man needs some help, but we have to wonder if he has played his last game for the Braves.

While the Braves PR staff said he would not be taking questions from the local media, he did offer a quick statement on how disappointed he is on the matter. Truth be told, whether it is his poor play on the diamond or his questionable actions off the field, his four-year, $65 million contract he signed in February 2021 is nothing short of an albatross. Alex Anthopoulos is human after all…

Even if Ozuna is remorseful over what happened in Norcross, who cares? What. Are. We. Even. Doing??? The Braves just won three games of four over the New York Mets, a team they still trail by 3.5 games in the NL East standings. Ozuna did not play in the four-game series, as he was been benched on Aug. 15. Atlanta has won nine of its last 10 games, yet this is all we can talk about…

The Braves procured themselves a soft-serve machine after taking three of four over New York. Max Fried outdueled Jacob deGrom head-to-head to win the series, yet it has been a somber Friday throughout Braves Country because of persona non grata. Ozuna needs a lot of things in his life right now, but he does not need to be on this team any longer. This is such an embarrassment.

And for the fifth day in a row, Ozuna has not been penciled into the Braves’ starting lineup at DH.
