College football power rankings: Top 25 quarterbacks for the 2022 season
By John Buhler
Never before in your life have you wanted to wake up and p**s teal so badly
Not until very recently has anybody ever aspired to want to wake up and p**s teal this badly. Ricky Bobby first taught us all about the art of p*****g excellence. Even though that was merely comedy, there is nothing funny about what Grayson McCall can do at the quarterback position. He is the best player in the Sun Belt and he is about to take Coastal Carolina to the freaking stratosphere!
Group of Five, my ass! A chanticleer is the toughest barnyard animal for a reason. I mean, if you take one look into McCall’s eyes, you will cease to exist because he is a flipping Basilisk. Fictitious chicken-toad offspring aside, McCall has every bit the chance to win all the awards and crash the Heisman Trophy party. He’s not winning it, but everyone will know who he is and what he’s about.
We are looking at one of the most accomplished Group of Five quarterbacks since … Kellen Moore.
Caleb went Hollywood with the hopes of making USC football matter once again
Relax! It’s okay that Caleb Williams went to Hollywood. The D.C. native only went to Oklahoma initially to play for Lincoln Riley. Once Riley decided to head west, Williams moved out of his Norman dorm room to the tune of “California” by Phantom Planet. (Here we come!) By not having to redshirt, Williams can not only lead USC to a Pac-12 title, but can be a Heisman Trophy finalist.
With this only being Williams’ second college season, he is not draft-eligible yet. However, if he plays up to his standard for the next two seasons, he projects to be the No. 1 overall pick for some sorry bad NFC team that doesn’t know it stinks yet. In the meantime, Williams can be the starting quarterback that helps bring USC football back to life. He will fight on, and so will the 2022 Trojans.
Together, Riley and Williams can be the reason West Coasters start to tune in on Saturdays now.
