Jake Haener’s almost Seattle return means it is Jeff Tedford time at Fresno State

There was a chance Jake Haener could have gone back to his first school alright and keep on keeping on with new Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer. However, Haener may have made a smarter decision by staying put in Fresno, as Jeff Tedford is back leading the Bulldogs football program. If all goes well for Haener this season, he could see his 2023 NFL Draft stock explode.

Tedford is a bit of a quarterback whisperer, best associated with Cal football’s peak in the 2000s with the likes of Aaron Rodgers slinging the pigskin for him. Although Fresno State is not favored to win the Mountain West this year, the Bulldogs are on a shortlist of teams who could realistically do so. Expect Fresno State to be around a top-25 team this season because of Haener’s arm.

Here is to Haener’s decision to stay put at Fresno State working out for the best for him this year.

The only prescription to the amount of air Will Rogers will raid is more cowbell

It is not a matter of if, but how many yards Will Rogers will throw in Mike Leach’s Air Raid system at Mississippi State this year. This is Rogers’ third season slinging the pill for The Pirate in Starkville, meaning he is essentially guaranteed to put up extraordinary numbers. This is why some people are quite bullish on the Bulldogs this season. Mississippi State is a team to watch.

The last time we saw a quarterback run Leach’s system this well was Gardner Minshew during his one year at Washington State. It helped the Mississippi Mustache transform into Minshew Mania, and no pair of jean shorts were safe afterward. So when you venture into Mr. Will Rogers’ Neighborhood, look for him to pass way more than he will run. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

If Rogers proves to be a top-three passer in the SEC, Mississippi State can win around nine games.
