Texas will be #AllGasNoBrakes with Quinn Ewers throwing it to Xavier Worthy

A big reason why even the most skeptical people should believe in the Texas Longhorns to some degree this year is the emerging downfield connection between new starting quarterback Quinn Ewers and one of the best wide receivers in the country in Xavier Worthy. Ewers getting the nod over Hudson Card helps Texas get a bit closer to its eight-to-10-win ceiling for the 2022 season.

Worthy is arguably the best wide receiver in the Big 12, which speaks volumes, given how many great passing attacks there are in the league. Expect Worthy to be somewhat of a safety valve in Ewers’ first season as the starter. Texas needs to be pushing toward the top 25 in year two under Steve Sarkisian for things to be truly moving in a positive direction. It is #AllGasNoBrakes.

If Ewers-to-Worthy is as good as advertised, Texas may be worthy enough to make it to the NY6.

Kayshon Boutte has a chance to be the best member of Brian Kelly’s family

Brian Kelly might just be getting started in building up his LSU family, as he is not done winning yet, but he better realize there are no other Kayshon Bouttes walking through that door other than Kayshon Boutte. Whether it is Arizona State transfer Jayden Daniels or former four-star prospect Garrett Nussmeier slinging the pill, Boutte better be on the receiving end of many of those passes.

LSU may not pop until year two under Kelly, but Boutte has all the talent in the world to be the best wide receiver in the SEC this season, possibly helping the Bayou Bengals overachieve this fall. Should Boutte play up to lofty expectations, he could be the latest former LSU wide receiver to go in the first round in an NFL Draft. Of course, someone has to get him the ball with great regularity.

Look for Boutte to show the rest of the college football world he will be a star on NFL Sundays.
