6. Week 1 Fantasy Football RB sleepers: Michael Carter, New York Jets

When the New York Jets drafted Breece Hall in the second round of this year’s draft, the fantasy football community went wild about him being a breakout this season. While this is still possible, he’s going to have to take the job from Michael Carter, who most definitely still has it.

The Jets’ staff has been raving about Carter, going as far as calling him the ‘heartbeat of the offense‘ (NFL Nation on ESPN). He’s also listed as the RB1 on the depth chart. It’s hard to ignore all these things when looking at the Jets’ running game. Carter will be a legitimate factor in this offense, and someone you should have your eye on.

5. Week 1 Fantasy Football RB sleepers: James Robinson, Jacksonville Jaguars

James Robinson still seems to be overlooked and underrated every season. This year, Travis Etienne is going in the first five rounds of fantasy drafts. Meanwhile, Robinson is essentially free. This is a weird occurrence for a player whose coach has called him a three-down back. Robinson is talented and arguably the Jags’ best offensive player.

He’s expected to play this week as he returns from an Achilles’ injury. If he returns to his regular role, this will be a massive steal in fantasy football. This backfield could look something like the Saints’ tandem of Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram several of years ago.
