2. Top Fantasy Football Pickups For Week 2 – Washington Commanders WR Curtis Samuel

A popular sleeper pick last year, Samuel had a lost first season with Washington. The offseason addition of Jahan Dotson appeared to spell doom to Samuel’s fantasy prospects, making his Week 1 outburst absolutely stunning.

Samuel formed an immediate connection with Carson Wentz, who targeted him 11 times on the afternoon. Those targets weren’t wasted as Samuel caught eight of them for 55 yards and found the end zone twice, earning him some significant trust from the Commanders’ coaching staff.

The volume is immediately appealing for Samuel, who would be playable as a potential WR2 if Wentz keeps feeding him the football. It is also worth monitoring if Washington decides to use Samuel in the running game in a similar manner to how the 49ers use Deebo Samuel, giving him some carries in addition to his receptions.

There will be plenty of opportunities for you to add Samuel, who is rostered in just 3 percent of Yahoo leagues. Samuel is definitely worth a speculative pickup as a flex option in half-PPR leagues with the potential for more if Wentz keeps feeding him the football.
