4. Asante Samuel Jr.’s confidence is something to aspire to

There were several stunning snapshots of the afternoon AFC West match between the Raiders and the Chargers. There was Derek Carr hugging Justin Herbert after losing 19-24, and dramatic shots of Darren Waller nabbing it against a sea of blue and gold again and again.

But there’s something about seeing Asante Samuel Jr. snap a few pics before the game that screams, “I know I’m due for a good one.”

Samuel recorded four total tackles, two passes defended and one interception. That made for three interceptions on the day for Carr, who loves Davante Adams as much as Aaron Rodgers did. The problem is, Rodgers wasn’t getting intercepted three times in one game.

But let’s not put it all on Derek Carr, either, because that can take away from Asante Samuel Jr. The 22-year-old safety drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft has three interceptions through 13 games, and he’s just getting started.
