Fantasy football running back sleepers for Week 2: Melvin Gordon, Denver Broncos

It appears that Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon will somewhat repeat their shared backfield that they had last season. The only difference is that Williams now appears to be the preferred passing down back, catching 11 balls for 65 yards. However, Gordon won the carry battle 12-7.

Gordon will still see action in an offense that should rebound this week against a Houston Texans team that just allowed Jonathan Taylor to go ballistic. Gordon is a cheap daily fantasy option and a high-end RB3 this week.

Fantasy football running back sleepers for Week 2: Khalil Herbert, Chicago Bears

Bears’ second-year back Khalil Herbert impressed last season while filling in for David Montgomery. While Montgomery is still the starter, Herbert out-produced him last week on fewer touches. Montgomery turned 20 touches into 50 yards, while Herbert turned 10 touches into 43 yards and a touchdown.

Though Montgomery is the clear-cut starter, it’s clear the Bears have a role for Herbert, who honestly looked like the more talented back. Plug him in your daily fantasy lineups for the potential of that backfield becoming closer to a 50-50 split.
