10 RB sleepers to target for fantasy football Week 2
Fantasy football running back sleepers for Week 2: Jamaal Williams, Detroit Lions
The Lions’ backfield was much more of a two-headed monster last week than D’Andre Swift owners would have liked. Swift won the touch battle 18-12 and did go for 144 yards on the ground with a touchdown, but Jamaal Williams had a pair of touchdowns himself. He doesn’t look like he’s going away anytime soon.
Swift is banged up this week, but he returned to practice on Friday, giving him a good chance to play on Sunday. Still, it’s impossible to ignore the fact that Williams is a part of this offense. He’s a sneaky daily fantasy play with big touchdown upside, as he is the preferred goal line back.
Fantasy football running back sleepers for Week 2: Jeff Wilson, San Francisco 49ers
You have to feel for not only Elijah Mitchell, but the 49ers backfield as a whole. Neither can ever escape injury. Mitchell went down again in Week 1, leaving Jeff Wilson as the likely workhorse running back. Let’s take a look at last year when Mitchell was injured and missed time: Wilson had no fewer than 13 carries when he started last season, and he had an explosion versus the Falcons, going 21 for 110 yards and a touchdown.
The only thing stopping Wilson from true RB1 status this week is Deebo Samuel, who will undoubtedly play a significant role in the backfield. Even with that, Wilson is a solid play this week and will see plenty of opportunities.
