2) White Sox outfielder Gavin Sheets

Gavin Sheets is another outfielder for the White Sox that hasn’t exactly pulled his weight in 2022.

He has played in 110 games this season and entering Sunday, Sheets was hitting .238/.293/.410 with an OPS+ of 97. Sheets is an even worse defender (-11 Defensive Runs Saved) so while his versatility between first base and the corner outfield spots is nice, he’s not playing well on either side of the ball this season.

If the White Sox wanted to make a big splash, they could go for Aaron Judge since he will be a free agent at the end of this season. They could have an outfield of Benintendi, Luis Robert, and Aaron Judge with Andrew Vaughn at first base and Eloy Jimenez as the DH and spending some time in the outfield.

The White Sox could afford Judge but it’s unlikely that they sign him and even more unlikely that they sign him and Benintendi. They could decide to sign Brandon Nimmo or Mitch Haniger as cheaper options than Judge on the free agent market, though.
