College football rankings: Biggest losers from AP Top 25 Poll, Week 4

19. player. 861. BYU Cougars. FBS Independent. (2-1). Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

BYU is no longer a candidate to win Group of Five this season after Oregon loss

For as good of a win it was for BYU to beat Baylor at home in Provo last week, not playing up to standard vs. Oregon in Eugene deflates the Cougars’ promising season quite a bit. BYU is joining the Big 12 next year, and should thrive in its new conference in due time. However, this tough road loss suggests it may not be as smooth of a transition to the Power Five as Sitake would have liked.

Pick Analysis. Florida Gators. 840. Scouting Report. SEC. (2-1). 20. player

Florida almost lost at home to South Florida, which is very problematic for UF

After upsetting Utah at home in Week 1, it has not been a great last two weeks to be a Florida Gator. Losing at home to division rival Kentucky is not the end of the world, as UK is very strong under Mark Stoops. However, Billy Napier’s team nearly lost at home to South Florida. Thus, there is a great deal of variance to this Florida team, which will keep it only middle of the pack this year.

Scouting Report. Miami Hurricanes. 25. 834. Pick Analysis. ACC. (2-1). player

It was all about The U, until the Miami Hurricanes lost to Gig Em at Kyle Field

Did we really expect the Miami Hurricanes to go into Kyle Field and beat a desperate Texas A&M Aggies team on a Saturday night? No, but we did not expect their offense to be this listless either. Miami had the massive quarterbacking advantage here, but Tyler Van Dyke could not do much of anything on the Texas A&M defense. This game suggests that Miami is still very much rebuilding.

805. (2-1). Michigan State Spartans. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. . NR

Tuck was not coming in Seattle, as his Michigan State team is now unranked

Traveling across the country to face a sleeping West Coast giant in Washington would be a tall task for anybody. However, you have to win those games if you want to be playoff-caliber at a place like Michigan State. The Spartans are now seen as the fourth-best team in the Big Ten East. And with the division’s bottom feeders playing well, what happens if Tuck is not actually coming?

Here is to BYU, Florida, Miami and Michigan State all playing better in their next football games.
