10 snapshots that capture the glory of NFL Week 2 comebacks
4. And here’s to you, Mr. Robinson
If you comb through the rosters in your fantasy football league, find the person who rostered James Robinson and congratulate them.
They may not win it all this year, but they certainly made the best decision in the league.
It needs to be said: James Robinson is the steal in fantasy football, at least through Week 1 and Week 2. There’s no telling what will happen for the rest of the year in regards to potential injuries, but with the injury bug aside, Robinson is him.
That’s not only meant in the sense that Robinson is that dude, and he has been dominant for the Jaguars for the past two weeks. It also means that Robinson is going to feature prominently in Jacksonville’s backfield, even while sharing touches with lauded rookie Travis Etienne Jr.
Robinson wasn’t just competing for carries with Etienne this year — he also worked endlessly to regain full form after a devastating Achilles tear in Week 16 of last season.
And that after Urban Meyer mysteriously benched him a great deal last season — and Robinson still ended up with 767 rushing yards through 14 games.
This is all after Robinson broke out onto the scene in 2020, amassing 1,070 scrimmage yards, the most for an undrafted rookie in NFL history. What? Why did we, as an NFL community, ever doubt Robinson’s ability to fight his way back to the top?
Here’s to hoping Robinson continues to get the rock throughout the remainder of 2022. No, not just because he’s on my fantasy roster, but because this man has done everything to deserve that chance.
