In the American League Central, the Guardians clinched on Saturday.

In the AL Wild Card race, the Baltimore Orioles are several games back of the Mariners. The Blue Jays, Rays, and Mariners have the three Wild Card spots.

The AL playoff seeding

As of Sept. 25, here is how the American League playoff seeding would be.

  • AL Wild Card Series No. 1: No. 6 Seattle Mariners @ No. 3 Cleveland Guardians
    • The winner of this series would advance to the ALDS to face the No. 2 New York Yankees
  • AL Wild Card Series No. 2: No. 5 Tampa Bay Rays @ No. 4 Toronto Blue Jays
    • The winner of this series would advance to the ALDS to face the No. 1 Houston Astros
