Must-watch college football games of week 6: 4. Tennessee vs. LSU

LSU’s season-opening loss to Florida State is now far enough in the rearview mirror that the Tigers have actually made their way back into the Top 25. It helps that the Seminoles have exceeded general expectations this year while the Tigers have worked their way to 4-1.

That’s not to say there isn’t skepticism around LSU remaining. They had to overcome a 17-0 deficit against a reeling Auburn team last weekend, which may be a sign of weakness or resilience depending on your perspective.

Tennessee is undefeated and coming off its first win over Florida since 2016. They’re in the Top 10 and looking for another victory to carry them into a potentially humongous matchup with Alabama next week. The Volunteers haven’t beaten the Tigers since 2005, so getting that monkey off their back would be nice too.

Does Brian Kelly have LSU trending in the right direction? Is Tennessee a threat to Alabama? This matchup will set the stage for the second half of the season. You won’t want to miss it at 12:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
