No. 4 Trade Target: CB Donte Jackson

This might not cost much to get, but if the Cowboys were to land Donte Jackson, there is a silver lining. For one, he is fast. Coming out of LSU, Jackson ran a 4.32. So, his speed checks off Dan Quinn’s list. While his height isn’t precisely what Quinn likes in his system, his physicality and awareness help, so that also checks off the list.

Additionally, though he has no turnovers, he’s got instincts that allow him to function well, so that checks off the list. His only concern would be his contract situation. Last March, Jackson signed a three-year, $35.1 million deal, and given how Jerry Jones is a stickler about the cap, it could be a bold call to make.

That said, the Dallas defense has primarily relied on the pressure generated up front. They need some help in the back end to compensate in case the pass rush doesn’t get home. It would be wise to consider, but not the most critical move.

Next up is a face with familiarity in the trenches and one who could start immediately and become a contributor instantly.
