Steelers trade candidates: Mitch Trubisky

Rudolph has been on the block since the summer, but Trubisky is new here. Maybe they should finally introduce themselves.

Trubisky was benched in favor of Pickett just a few short weeks ago. It was only a matter of time, as Trubisky was always the short-term solution until the Steelers turned things over to the future of their franchise in the Pitt product Pickett.

Canada’s system was well-suited for a player like Trubisky — a true game manager in ever since of the word — but he failed to make it through his progressions on a consistent basis and was too predictable in the pocket. If anything, Trubisky is more comfortable on the move, which his play-caller was seemingly too dumb to figure out.

Trubisky is fresh enough in the minds of NFL executives that he could step right in if called upon. He has received action as a starter this season. If a quarterback goes down, he could be an easy trade target to acquire, and on a good contract to boot.

A mid-round pick would be enough for the Steelers to part ways.
