Christian McCaffrey trade rumors: Seattle Seahawks

As it turns out, both teams involved in the Russell Wilson trade could be in on the McCaffrey trade sweepstakes.

Seattle’s Geno Smith experience is going far better than expected, and they’re just one game out in the NFC West. As fun as Smith has been, though, he has his limitations. The Seahawks will need a productive running game if they’re to prove to be a real threat in the NFC. As currently constructed, they do not have one, in part due to the injury to Rashaad Penny.

The Seahawks drafted Kenneth Walker early in the 2022 NFL Draft, but he’s only a rookie. A player like McCaffrey would be perfect for Walker to learn from and split carries with. McCaffrey is a true professional and, despite what what Carolina may suggest at first, can be had relatively cheap.

McCaffrey is an injury waiting to happen, which is the only risk involved. But the Seahawks have plenty of draft capital thanks in part to the Wilson trade. So, why not use it?
