Carlos Santana proves worthy as a depth piece for New York Mets

Santana has been in the Major Leagues for over 11 seasons and continues to prove his worth as a depth piece for teams down the stretch. Santana was traded to Seattle from the Kansas City Royals at this year’s trade deadline. Rather than riding out the final months of his deal with the last-place Royals, he was moved to the Seattle Mariners, where he was able to contribute to a team during an exciting run to the playoffs.

During his short stint with the Mariners, Santana hit .192/.293/.400 with an OPS of .693. He hit eight doubles and 15 home runs, scored 35 runs, walked 35 times, and had 39 RBI.

Santana appeared to have a rejuvenation in his move to Seattle during their stretch run.

Santana could sign a short-term deal with a contending team looking for some depth, including the New York Mets, New York Yankees, or Los Angeles Dodgers.
