New York Jets rookie Sauce Gardner has proven himself one of the better young cornerbacks in the NFL this season, and he trolled Packers fans hard after a Week 6 win.

Sauce Gardner and the Jets defeated Green Bay in all three phases of the game — something we never expected to say about this Aaron Rodgers-led team. Yet, Matt LaFleur’s team fell to 3-3 on the season, and it’s officially time to hit the panic button.

Gardner had two passes defended on Sunday afternoon, the most on the team. He’s a high first-round draft pick for a reason.

After the game, Gardner found a cheesehead and wore it off the field in a hilarious troll that Packers fans surely won’t take kindly to.

Packers trolled by Jets, Sauce Gardner in a new low point

With the trade deadline rapidly approaching, expect Brian Gutekunst and the Green Bay front office to explore avenues to improve this Packers team. Aaron Rodgers only has so many years left, and if Green Bay is to make another postseason run, this version of the Packers doesn’t seem good enough to do so.

That’s especially true on the offensive side of the ball. Could an Odell Beckham Jr. signing be looming? What about a DJ Moore or Chase Claypool trade?

Wide receiver separation has been a real problem for the Packers, and against cornerbacks like Gardner, they’re relatively helpless. Robert Tonyan, Green Bay’s tight end, was its leading receiver on the day with 10 catches. No Green Bay wideout had more than four grabs.

Much of that should be credited to Gardner and the Jets defense — and he’s earned the right to celebrate. But the Packers wideouts aren’t without blame in all of this. It’s been a constant theme in 2022.
