4. Top Fantasy Football Pickups For Week 7 – New England Patriots WR Tyquan Thornton

The rookie class of wide receivers has been incredibly bountiful for fantasy football players. Chris Olave, Drake London and Garrett Wilson have become must-starts every week while George Pickens is among the group that is in flex consideration.

A new player from the 2022 draft class emerged in Cleveland this week as Bill Belichick unleashed Tyquan Thornton on the Browns. Thornton, who made headlines at the combine with his blazing speed, was used as a versatile weapon to add some much-needed electricity to a low-wattage New England offense.

The passing numbers didn’t look stellar for Thornton, who caught four-of-five targets for 37 yards, but he did find the end zone on one of them. Thornton also got three carries in the game for 16 yards and scored another touchdown on a jet sweep play that saw him zip right through the Browns’ defense.

The potential for multi-category contributions makes Thornton, who is rostered in just one percent of Yahoo leagues, into a worthy flier as a bench stash. There is risk since New England loves to run the football as the basis of its offense but stash Thornton in case the Patriots decide to use his speed more often.
