After two home runs in Game 4 to give the Phillies a 3-1 series lead, Rhys Hoskins is at it again in the NLCS vs the Padres.

The Phils are just one win away from the World Series. Sunday afternoon’s Game 5 got off to a great start thanks to Rhys Hoskins, who hit his third Citizens Bank Park home run of the series, and fourth of the playoffs.

Hoskins, with the jubilation of a little leaguer, skipped around the bases after his latest bomb. The Phillies have not been shy about their postseason moments since the Wild Card round. Very little was expected of this group entering the playoffs, and they’ve proved the pundits wrong and made us all believe in a Red October.

The dugout angle is even more electric.

Rhys Hoskins: Phillies home run from all angles

Hoskins has owned the NLCS so far, and could very well take that momentum into the World Series against (likely) the Houston Astros. Philadelphia, should they reach that point, will be underdogs.

The Citizens Bank Park crowd has been a factor and then some. While Blake Snell insinuated that the Phillies wouldn’t feel as confident taking the series back to Petco Park for a Game 6, they may not have to.

“We knew the crowd was going to be a factor,” Hoskins said. “We’re confident in that. We saw that in the NLDS. And we feel like it’s a big part of when you get those innings rolling, you get a couple guys on, it gets a little louder. You get the one big hit, it gets louder, and that’s where you can really snowball things.”

Hoskins, for his part, has kept the home crowd on their feet during his at-bats. Bryce Harper has a 10-game playoff hit streak to boot.
