Big Ten. (7-0). Ohio State Buckeyes. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 2. 812

Ohio State is blowing seemingly everyone out, but the schedule is not impressive

There are so many reasons why Ohio State was a good pick to win the national championship this year. The Buckeyes have one of the most dangerous offenses in college football. With quarterback C.J. Stroud in contention to not only win the Heisman Trophy, but also be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, it is hard to poke holes at anything the Buckeyes have done so far this season.

That said, they have not played anybody really worth a damn so far. The Buckeyes have one win over a ranked opponent at the time. That was on Labor Day Weekend at home vs. a Notre Dame team that was grossly overrated from the start. Strangely, that still might be the Buckeyes’ best win up to this point. Of course, that will all change when they play at Penn State this Saturday.

Instead of a night game, it will be Big Noon Saturday in Happy Valley. A win for the Nittany Lions will keep their slim playoff dreams alive, while also putting the Buckeyes’ on life support. Although Northwestern and Indiana pose no threat at all, Maryland is not an easy out. Of course, it will all probably come down to the most important date of the season vs. that hated team from up north.

Ohio State has been too dominant for criticism over how truly lackluster its opposition has been.
