2023 NFL Mock Draft: Could QBs go 1-2-3 in the first round?

10. . WR. Houston Texans. Jaxon Smith-Njigba. 5. player

The Houston Texans need to do something to revive this offense moving forward, and they accomplish that within the first five picks of the 2023 NFL Draft. After getting their franchise quarterback in Bryce Young at No. 2 overall, they get the best wideout in the country in Jaxon Smith-Njigba here at No. 5.

Smith-Njigba has the size and speed to be a playmaker from Day 1 at the next level and has superstar written all over him. With Young getting him the ball, he will have his opportunity to break out as a rookie and help get Houston back to respectability in the AFC South.

. Edge. Seattle Seahawks. Myles Murphy. 6. player. 36

The Seattle Seahawks could certainly be in play for a quarterback here, but if Geno Smith continues to play the way he has so far, what’s the point? Smith looks destined to be a Pro Bowl player this season, and after beating Los Angeles on the road last weekend, how good can this Seahawks team be?

Seattle may look to lock Smith up for the long-term, and if they do, they can turn their focus to the defense here at pick No. 6. Myles Murphy is one of the top edge rushers in this draft class, and he would fill an immediate void in Seattle.
