The Steelers have made regular appearances in trade speculation and rumors all season long. On deadline day, here’s the latest.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are on pace for their worst season in terms of total wins since 1988 when they went 5-11. It’s a far cry from the Steelers we’ve come to know of the 21st century who have missed the postseason just eight times since the 2000 season.

As such, they’re the subject of plenty of trade speculation as well as legitimate rumors. There are a number of directions the team could go and plenty of rumors to detail and keep an eye on ahead of the NFL Trade Deadline, which hits on Tuesday at 4 PM ET.

There’s a case to be made that the Steelers need to open up a complete fire sale.

We’ll have this page updated with all the latest, so keep it bookmarked and check back in for everything you need to know on the Steelers deadline moves. But first, here’s what we know so far.

Tuesday, 1:35 PM – Chase Claypool traded to Bears

According to Adam Schefter, Chase Claypool has been traded to the Chicago Bears. The Steelers got a second-round pick out of the deal.

Earlier in the day it was reported that the Packers nearly had Claypool, but their division rival swooped in:

Tuesday, 1:25 PM – Steelers acquiring William Jackson III

The Steelers are acquiring Commanders CB William Jackson III.

Earlier this week – Chase Claypool’s status going into NFL Trade Deadline

Albert Breer suggested teams around the league think a third-round pick could get it done for Chase Claypool. Reportedly, though, there’s discordance between that expectation and what the Steelers want.

The reasoning for offloading Claypool would be to align the roster with the team’s rebuilding status a little bit better and to create more developmental opportunities for someone like George Pickens.

Earlier this week – Mason Rudolph and Mitchell Trubisky could both be moved

Jason La Canfora of the Washington Post reported that both of the Steelers backup quarterbacks could be moved at the deadline (subscription required). Kenny Pickett took over as the starter in Week 5 and has started every game since. Trubisky was the starter until that point and Rudolph has been firmly planted on the bench.

Rudolph, for what it’s worth, has reiterated recently that he didn’t request a trade:
