2023 NFL Mock Draft: A new successor for Tom Brady in Tampa Bay?
By Brad Weiss
The Green Bay Packers suffered a tough loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night, and it is clear they are lacking weapons. The young wideout in Green Bay are making too many mistakes, and you can see the frustration on the face of Aaron Rodgers after nearly every drive.
While they have not taken a first-round wideout in his career, that changes here, as the Packers add TCU star, Quentin Johnston. We do not know if Rodgers will return for another go-around in 2023, but if he does, the team needs to make it a priority to add weapons around him.
The Detroit Lions hold two first-round picks in 2023, one at the top of the draft due to their inability to win games, and one at No. 14 due to the Los Angeles Rams’ struggles this season. The pick at the top addresses the offense, adding a franchise quarterback in CJ Stroud, while this pick is for the defense.
The selection here is Joey Porter Jr., a legacy cornerback who could be a very special player at the next level. The Lions’ defense is downright atrocious this season, and in Porter, they get a legitimate CB1 prospect.
