1. Mike Quick – Ron Jaworski (1982 – 1986)

And last but certainly not least, the best WR-QB combo in Eagles history (for now) is Mike Quick and Ron Jaworski. This selection might surprise some fans, but in terms of longevity, Quick and Jaworski are the only duo on this list to have spent more than a couple uninterrupted seasons together. But this pair often gets lost in history because the Eagles had little success through these years, and in fact never had a winning record during this stretch.

Despite the lack of team success, Mike Quick set a franchise record in 1983 with 1,409 receiving yards that still stands today. This at a time when the league leaned heavier on running backs. In 1984, Quick caught 9 TDs with 1,052 receiving yards. And in the following season, he caught 11 TDs on 1,247 receiving yards.

Quick and Jaworski may no longer be household names across the NFL, but they remain etched in the minds of most Philadelphians as exemplars of great football. Much like Steve Carlton’s unbelievable 1972 season where he won 27 games as a starter (despite the Phillies’ 59-97 record), the Quick-Jaworski duo had little team success but knew how to put on a show for the loyal Veterans Stadium crowds of the mid-1980s.
