2. Micah Parsons (2021)

Typically, a player who’s only in his second NFL season wouldn’t have earned a spot so high on this list, especially among such illustrious stars. But Micah Parsons isn’t a typical NFL player. It didn’t take the Cowboys long to figure out, however, that they had a special player.

The Butkus Award winner was a standout at Penn State, and the Cowboys selected him 12th overall in the 2021 Draft. What’s perhaps more amazing is that 11 teams passed on this generational talent. In his first season, Parsons was named the Defensive Rookie of the Year and a first-team All-Pro. With 13 sacks in his first season, he picked up right where he left off with eight sacks so far this year. At the young age of 23, he’s already become the leader of one of the best defenses in recent NFL memory. And he’s sure to anchor the Cowboys’ defense for years to come.
