Kyle Gibson will head to the Minnesota Twins

Gibson was another veteran arm the Phillies used situationally during their playoff run.

During the regular season, Gibson pitched 10-8 in 167.2 innings and 31 games. He threw 144 strikeouts. Unfortunately, he tied his career high in home runs given up at 24.

This postseason he pitched in two games, going 2.1 with two strikeouts. He was not great, but he helped his team as he could. The lack of use signaled the end of Gibson’s time with the Phillies but hardly provided a satisfying end to his time there.

Gibson will hit the reset button this offseason. Teams, such as the Minnesota Twins, looking for a veteran, innings-eating strike thrower will find Gibson an ideal target. Look for him to be a backend of the rotation arm for the Twins next season as they look to bolster their rotation behind Joe Ryan.
