2. Nick Castellanos

Had it not been for some outstanding defensive plays during the postseason, this would have been an October and November to forget for Castellanos.

One of Philadelphia’s free agent acquisitions in the offseason, Castellanos didn’t have a home run in 17 postseason games and posted just a .185 batting average, striking out 18 times in 65 at-bats.

Castellanos was downright dreadful in the Fall Classic, going 3-for-24 (.125 batting average) while whiffing 10 times in 24 at-bats.

It was perhaps fitting that the final out of the World Series came off the bat of Castellanos, a short pop fly into left field that was easily handled by Yordan Alvarez. The weak contact was symbolic of not only Philadelphia’s largely ineffective offense, but also how Castellanos simply wasn’t a factor for Philadelphia against the Astros.
