2022 NFL power rankings, Week 10: Vikings running away in NFC North
Kevin O’Connell’s club took a five-game winning streak into their clash with the Commanders as Kirk Cousins returned to Washington for the first time since signing with the Vikings in 2018. The Purple Gang found itself trailing in the fourth quarter, 17-7.
Minnesota would score the final 13 points of the game as Harrison Smith set up a touchdown with a key interception. Greg Joseph’s 28-yard field goal with 12 seconds left was the difference.
The Chiefs were back on the field after their off week and hosted the Titans. Up 9-0 in the second quarter, Andy Reid’s team gave up the next 17 points and struggled to top Derrick Henry and the Tennessee ground attack.
The fourth quarter and overtime belonged to Patrick Mahomes. He threw for 446 yards and one TD (1 interception), ran for a two-point conversion and finished with 63 yards rushing and a touchdown in the comeback victory.
It was a short week for the league’s lone unbeaten team. And the Eagles ran their record to 8-0 via a victory over the pesky Texans. It’s the best start in the history of the franchise and it was another solid performance for a team that doesn’t make a lot of mistakes.
Jalen Hurts did lose a fumble – the first by Nick Sirianni’s team in 2022. But he also overcame four sacks by throwing for 243 yards and two touchdowns. And the Birds added 143 yards rushing.
